Enjoying Spring!
I hope we're not the only ones taking advantage of the bits and pieces of Spring we're being blessed with! I surely can't wait until it warms allll the way up! I've been shooting like crazy! Lot's of commercial shoots and lots of new families :) Will be posting shots soon. For now, I thought I'd post a few shots of my babies having a little play time in the sun.

Wardrobe Wednesday
Hey there Kenichi Skya"ers"! It's been a while, but I promise when I'm absent, it's always for a GOOD reason. Been busy, busy, busy with the Commercial side of photography AND shooting lots of new Kenichi Skya clients!
Today is Wardrobe Wednesday and I can't WAIT to see one of my little clients wearing one of the outfits I'm posting today. Yesterday I took a little time to go shopping for the house. I don't know why, but I woke up in a "I don't want this stuff in the house anymore" kind of mood. So while I was out shopping for the house, I walked into Gap and saw some of the CUTEST little big boys gear! A must for any little boy with a spunky attitude :)

Recent Session
Just wanted to share a few images from one of my recent sessions! I had the pleasure to photograph this adorable family last Wednesday. Both kids were so full of life! The oldest seemed as though he'd been used to having his photo taken and the youngest just wanted to do his "own" thing (which is IDEAL for me!) Just going through the photos has me giggling :)

What to wear???
THIS is one of the main questions that I get from clients. "What should we wear?" My suggestion is to always go all out and dress how you want your family portrayed, you know, the way you dress regularly (but there's no harm in going on a photo shoot shopping spree considering it's in your budget!) Whatever your families style is, is how you should present yourselves for your session.
This question got me thinking. It would be helpful to help clients pull together looks ahead of time by pointing them in the right direction based on their style. I'll be posting plenty of style sheets here to assist you.
While surfing Zara's website, I pulled together a few pieces that I am calling "Country Bumpkin". PERFECT for the daughter that loves a classic urban + country style!

Recent maternity session
I recently had the pleasure of photographing one of my very best friends to celebrate her pregnancy!
Coincidentally when I was pregnant with my son, she got pregnant with her daughter a few months later. And go figure, she's pregnant with # 3 and a few months later I pop up pregnant! We're going to have to stop drinking each other's water when we're pregnant!
She has always been drop dead gorgeous and now she's simply glowing :) I'm happy to have captured this special moment for her.

We're up!
Hi everyone! We finally got the blog up and going. This is going to be a lot of fun. And just in time for my first post.
Today I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite commercial models family photos! I have been photographing "L. Bean" since she was 4 years old. I photographed her for Beetlejuice London, Vogue Bambini fashion show, Lunchbox Magazine, Enchanted Enfant and more!
Today was very different as I had always photographed "L. Bean" as a model and today I had the pleasure of photographing her in her rawest form, being HERSELF along with her mom and moms fiance. It was lots of fun. Hopefully you can tell from the photos :)
